Dickey Now Top Pitcher Available On The Market, Rangers Still Interested
With Anibal Sanchez now agreeing to return to the Tigers, James Shields a member of the Royals, and Zack Greinke joining the Dodgers, Dickey is now the best available pitcher remaining.
The top free agent pitchers still available are Shaun Marcum, Kyle Lohse and Edwin Jackson. Lohse is the best of the three, and has had a great run over the past few seasons. He is coming off his best season pitching to a 2.86 ERA and going 16-3. The Padres are making a strong push to sign Jackson as we speak.
The list of remaining starting pitchers in not impressive at all, and even though Dickey is 38 years old, he is still the best available pitcher on the market.
The teams that missed out on Greinke, Sanchez and Shields may come back to the Mets willing to up their offer to acquire Dickey. Since the Angels signed Hamilton on Wednesday there have been rumors swirling that they may be interested in Dickey due to the depth in the outfield they now have. Ken Rosenthal also reported on Twitter that the Rangers are still in the mix, especially after they missed out on Greinke, Shields, and now Hamilton.

So, this leaves Texas, possibly Angels (though reports state otherwise), Toronto, possibly BoSox, possibly Seattle, then long shot odds on St. Loo & Balt.

Saw that on the news earlier.
So sad.
Sorry to go off topic – but maybe everyone can take a minute from their disdain for everyone to stop and say a prayer, or give a thought to these familes
Yeah, been reading about it all morning… Started at 9:30 this morning… Thoughts and prayers from the CORE to those affected…
This is one of the worst things I’ve seen in a while. Lives are senselessly lost, and forever changed. Please remember these families in your prayers and thoughts.
Agreed. People so full of hate and anger.
Why aren’t the D-Backs ever mentioned. They are willing to trade Jason Kubel. Trade Dickey and Flores for Kubel and one of the D-Backs pitchers.
Woawsa no.
Last 3 years: .257 .327 .458 .784
2013 31 Arizona Diamondbacks $7,500,000
2014 32 Arizona Diamondbacks *$7,500,000 $7.5M Team Option, $1M Buyout
Why not just sign Ross and keep Dickey if you are going to do that?
Jon Heyman reports
#bluejays #angels, 2 biggest under-the-radar clubs in mlb, are among teams thought interested in dickey. Trade buzz up.

the only player Mets fans are legitimately enthusiastic about and want to come see pitch. best get rid of him asap…
the Wilpons are taking a page from the Jim Dolan school of Sports Team Ownership…and how best to be permanently and irrevocable hated by every NY sports fan. Congratulations to all.
Rubin just tweeted that RA will most likely be traded today….which means…
Alderson is going to get that big package he was looking for all off season(no pun intended).
