Andres Torres Agrees To Deal With Giants
Andrew Baggarly of CSN Bay Area is reporting that Andres Torres is heading back to the San Francisco Giants and that the two sides have agreed on a one-year deal pending a physical.
Torres rejoins the Giants as a fourth outfielder after starting in centerfield for them from 2009-11 before they traded him to the Mets for Angel Pagan last offseason.
Torres posted a slash of .230/.327/.337 for the Mets in 2012 and was non-tendered last month.

Andres Torres is no longer a Met!
An end to his base-running stupidity and really crappy bat. You see, the 2013 Mets are already a little better!
Don’t get too excited because Sandy could trade Dickey to get him back, the offseason is still young yet!
Ohhh man… We are in serious trouble without this guy’s kindness and good guy clubhouse presence (Roll eyes)
Good bye you PIECE OF ____!!!! Whoever thought somehow this guy was gonna help the team was delusional. i don’t care how much fans in SF thought they were gonna miss this guy, winning a championship last year i am sure erased all kinds of sad feelings they had over losing the great andres torres… SMGDH
Ooooh, Alex, we agree on something today. Must be the Christmas spirit, ol’ bean!
Lmao.. It’s ok russell. You still cool in my book.
Good riddance!
Here’s how lopsided that stupid trade was… Pagan helped them win a WS, torres and ramirez were POS’s for the mets are now a free agent and the other is back with the giants.. Wow..
That’s the reality, Alex. True, but hadn’t Torres contributed for one year to the Giants’ success?
I never thought much of the trade at the time; I was tired of Pagan’s baserunning idiocy, but always considered him a supreme athlete. I sort of thought we were getting a reliable utility OFer in Torres. Oof, sure didn’t work out.
According to some people here, torres was a shoe in for the trade, the main piece was ramirez who also turn out to be a POS. And then, pagan went to a team were fans didn’t expect him to be a superstar and appreciated him and the rest is history..
best of luck to Andres. He’ll probably enjoy going back to a winning team with fans that appreciate him and don’t expect him to be a superstar.
I think that comes off as an underhanded shot.
Nobody expected Andres Torres to be a superstar. At least in my case, I was hoping for average play.
He was coming off a disappointing season and we were all hoping for a bounceback. He did not bounce back, and instead put up just about the same numbers he did the year before that.
So I say good riddance and good luck.
LMFAO!!!! Ken Rosenthal just called the Mets “BOTTOM FEEDERS” on WFAN with Ed Coleman…lol….
Mets fans and Boras are not the only ones that call Mets Bottom feeders and trash pickers.
So San Fran just signed our starting CF to backup our ex-CF whom we traded for the backup in the 1st place…. o_O
Torres would rather backup the guy who replaced him than start in NYC
bwahahahahaha
Sacrificing personal gain to play on a winner !
why does that sound so familiar
That trade was a miserable failure, no doubt, glad he’s gone.
Anyone find it funny though that the WS Champs think enough of him to bring him back?
As a 4th OFer, Torres isn’t that bad.
As a starter, he’s pretty bad.
Satish Ram: Exactly on target. The Giants know the diffrence between 3rd OF and 4th OF. The Mets stink and can’t even smell a 3rd OF. Why ?: Because they can’t afford or won’t pay for a starting OF.
Let’s get Francoeur back!
Noooooo….oh wait…Who cares?
Didn’t want him back…. Glad he’s gone…just dead weight that we don’t have to deal with.
I was upset that Sandy was thinking of bringing him back…
Now can we at least look into Josh Hamilton or Michael Bourn? I’m not saying that we’d have to sign one of them, but at least just ask…how can you take anything this FO says about winning when they aren’t even trying? and before someone comes back with “how do you know they haven’t tried?”…I say, if Sandy tried, then he would have let us know about it…it would have been leaked one way or another….that’s how is team operates.
No further comment. I’ve been arguing enough with some who thought it was a good trade at the time. You guys take over for me, please!!!
Any word on the money?
$2 million.
