ONCE HE ASCERTAINS WHAT THE POSSIBLE RETURN COULD BE HE’S LIKELY TO SWITCH THEM OFF OF DICKEY & ONTO A NIESE OR GEE AT LEAST THAT’S WHAT I’D DO & IF IT WERE ME I’D BE WILLING TO DEAL BOTH FOR THE RIGHT RETURN LIKELY FROM 2 DIFF PARTNERS FOR EXAMPLE MLB EXP TALENT FROM CLEVELAND FOR SAY NIESE & GEE FOR THE RIGHT PROSPECTS FROM KC OR TORONTO
AS A GM I’D CERTAINLY BE MORE COMFORTABLE WITH A ROTATION COMPRISED OF SANTANA, DICKEY, HARVEY, WHEELER & TBD THAN SANTANA, NIESE, HARVEY, WHEELER, GEE

Nothing new here with his statement. Think everyone pretty much knew the reason RA isn’t signed yet is b/c the FO wants to see what other teams will offer back in a trade.

If they don’t trade him this week, I can’t imagine why this would go into the season w/o him being extended. They can’t be that far off in money for the 2 years. Not unless the Mets really low balled the first offer and it’s less than 10 MIL a year. If that’s the case, then there’s no doubt in my mind they would prefer to trade him.

Hi Maniac,

Interesting thought about using Wheeler as trade bait. If he is as highly regarded by MLB organizations as let on, I am sure teams with ample enough hitting and in need of starting pitching would thus be willing to part with one of their own promising young hitters in exchange. Both teams would be dealing with their strengths to fill in their weakness.

If we can put out feelers for a Cy Young Award winner whose heart sincerely sides with the New York Mets, I wonder if we are actually putting out Wheeler feelers as well.

Hilarious listening to SA speak after years of dealing with Omar, who couldn’t finish a sentence without starting a new one. And, frankly, I don’t know who is more difficult to decifer.

Sandy’s very difficult to read. He’s almost too methodical. Let’s hope for the best..

I have to admit that if RA Dickey really did go speak money with the GM than i can’t argue w/Alderson’s response, RA shouldn’t do that and it is innappropriate. I mean that’s pretty wild if RA actually wanted to talk contract on his own without his agent there.

I honestly cant wait til we get a new GM here….this is just depressing…im tired of hearing how so many players dont fit the team financially…The ticket,parking,food prices to go to the see them play dont fit financially but I dont see them dropping that fast enough.

SA has sad all along he will look to improve by trading. He has pitching to trade so thats what I am expecting. Dickey or Niese will be ex-mets soon IMO.
