Major League Baseball announced via Twitter this afternoon that Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz has been suspended 25 games after testing positive for an Amphetamine. Updated Post 11/27 Mike Pelfrey told Adam Rubin of ESPN New York that he expects to be ready to pitch by Opening Day. “If the season started January 15, I would be able to go out and throw 100 pitches,” Pelfrey told Rubin. R.A. Dickey told reporters this morning that he is surprised by how slow negotiations have gone on a contract extension, and expressed disappointment with the slow pace.
