MMO Fan Shot: Meet Metsie, A Bewildered Mets Fan
I got these pictures emailed to me from one of our readers Eileen (Always Amazin), and I thought you’d love to see them.
Meet Metsie, all 2.8 pounds of him…
Apparently, Metsie was thrilled about R.A. Dickey winning the Cy Young award when this shot was taken.
Metsie looks a little bewildered at times, like most Mets fans, writes Eileen…
Thanks for sending these in… It’s our first MMO Fan Shot that were actually shots!

Cool Cat Jersey.
OMG he’s so adorable!
Hi Joe,
I’ve seen an earlier photo of Metsie and boy how he has changed since it was taken. I bet Jessep and some others never thought he looked so cool and adorable!.
Just joking guys! Wonderful photos Eileen and thanks for sharing them with all of us.
“Oh, that’s soooo cute!”.

Alright Eileen, you got me with the cat jersey. That cat is adorable.
I’m waiting on our reader Metsie to comment on this lol he’s going to wage war for name infringement.
This was a nice light-hearted way to end my evening.
I’m sorry but I’m just NOT that hairy even with three days of beard growth!
But I do usually dress all in Black….A habit from my Metalhead days.
So I give him fashion props!
Sandy Alderson = The new and improved Al Harazin
Aka a lawyer trying to be a GM with a clueless set of owners trying to win back fans by over-spending
The WIlpons above Sandy ( not his fault )
JP + Depo below Sandy ( thats his fault )
Holy sh*t….Sandy is really surrounded by incompetence
and we are screwed !

Lets go back to June 2, 1969 and ask Tom Seaver what he thought about the Mets reaching the .500 so “late” in the season, without a single drop of champagne to be seen in the New York clubhouse: “There are only two places in the league – first place and no place.”
Of course that was before the wildcard and now .500 could get you at least in contention for the 2nd w/c.
Hi Hotstreak,
That reminds me of an old Peanuts comic strip back from the sixties. Charlie Brown was giving his team a pep talk and quoted Leo Durocher as saying nobody ever remembers who finished second. Linus then interrupted him and said “I do” and began listing off the names of the runner ups.
But while MLB might have increased it’s revenue take by having more fans attend games in many more cities that would otherwise have nothing to cheer about by mid-August, it has also destroyed the prestige of both the regular season and the post season. Through 1992, we saw a post-season battle of champions – winners of divisions which consisted of seven teams in the AL and six in the NL. It was a battle of single champions from a 162 game struggle.
Now what we get is an elimination tournament consisting of not even the five best teams in each league. Often, a division winner has less wins than other clubs who couldn’t even qualify for the wildcard due to the such unbalanced schedule with teams outside their own watered down divisions.
No wonder the post-season television records are a disgrace. Also notice that the one who finally comes out on top is called “The World Series Champion” and not “Worlds Champion” like before? Perhaps a Freudian slip on the part of MLB recognizing there is no such thing as a true world champion anymore.
Hi Joey,
Instead of Hang in there Charlie Brown its
Hang Around for Wild Card. .500 might get in contention for 2nd w/c
We are not that far away from mediocrity
Well, My Cats name is…..Felix “The Cat” Millan aka Gloves…..and he tells me that Metsie the cat is doing a horrible job managing the Litter
