I’m just glad the 40 games Trout played last season didn’t disqualify him from rookie status this season. What a year he had and what promise he has to become a superstar in the tradition of Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays with his being of five star quality.

I know this is unfair but because of all that we’ve seen of late I can’t help but wonder if anyone coming up and producing like a seasoned pro is taking something. That mistrust is more a sad statement of the still large in number minor league suspensions we’ve been seeing.

No doubt about Trout, but the NL will be interesting to see. I say Strasburg because they have been promoting him all over MLB commercials since the season started. He’s their poster boy right now. It’s probably unfair but he will win. Miley’s K/BB, BB/9 and WHIP are Maddux-esque.

I have nothing really against Miley but to use his 16 wins as a blanket reason to win ROY is a tad unfair

I know for certain that 2 of his wins came in games he gave up 5 runs. I think it could be 3 but I think some were “unearned.”

Wins are nice, don’t get me wrong.

John: Regarding Strasburg v. Miley – did Miley have Tommy John surgery in the off-season? I’m really asking – but I don’t think he did. If not, then it’s not a fair comparison.

I personally think Frazier should win because of the role he had to fill when the Reds were without Votto. BUT I think Harper will

Miley deserves it more. 16 wins in a rookie season is worth more than a couple of .275 hitters, and that’s not to say either of those hitters wont go on to have better careers.
