That is because before that signing the Yankees had 1.5 starting pitchers. It is CC, a flyer with Hughes, and then who knows what. They are waiting on a 40 year old Petite to join their rotation.

Talk about a non comparison…I would take the Mets starting staff over the Yankees. At least the Mets can point to 5 guys.

We have no business being compared to the Yankees. They make the playoffs every year. We go into the playoffs in 06 with the best record in baseball and lose to an 83-win team.

Because it’s becoming a theme. The last two off seasons, Alderson has done almost nothing to help the team. We still lack a clear direction. What the hell are we doing? Are we rebuilding? If so, then why is Wright still here and why are we trying to lock him up for a big money deal? Why was Reyes never traded? And why did Alderon give us false hope by saying we can be competitive when he was first hired? Here’s what he said:

“I think we’re starting with a core of players, 15 or so, who are pretty darn good,” Alderson said. “We don’t have a lot of money to fill out the last five or six spots on our 25-man roster, I would say. There’s not a lot of flexibility there this year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be optimistic or competitive about next season.”

If we are trying to compete, then why hasn’t he done anything significant to help the major league team? Why didn’t he part with a few prospects at the deadline when the team was still fighting the last two years? There’s just been so many mixed messages the last two years, and we still have no idea what the plan is. I think all Mets fans should feel disappointed about that.

Th dfference is Eli won’t get n AB but the Under Mendoza scrub they got from the A’s will probably put Murphy on the Bench because they hav an aversion to playing and keeping guys who hit above .250

Not to mention they have a team full of Allstar talent, while we have a team full of minor leaguers.

Sandy went on national radio claiming the team will look completely different next year because how bad they were. Cashman didnt do that because he didnt have to

Considering that they just resigned one of their best starting pitchers…at a price less than what he could’ve gotten on the market…I think Yankee fans are ok this morning.
