The only logical conclusion is Wright’s agent is throwing out a number so high it is scaring the crap out of Alderson and the Wilpons. Could be Negotiation 101 or it could be the parameters are giving the front office pause.

Nice to see the blame finally goes where it should. If I were the former Texas owner Tom Hicks over leveraged and he was left to fail: I would sue MLB and Bud Selig as the Wilpons and Katz were inthe same boat and rescued while he was left to sink and drown.

Nothing surprises me with this organization. The Wilpons must have some long-term assurance that they can hold onto the team financially and find better times ahead while they let it rot at this time. Or perhaps even they didn’t conceive the disasterous consequences of their actions and are taking more financial hits than they anticipated. It’s like a catch-22 for as long as the Wilpons want to retain ownership of the Mets the more difficult it would be for the franchise to act in a professional manner.

The Wilpons, the team and major league baseball itself would have been better off had Bud Selig not intervened.

It seems to me that nobody really knows and, to be honest, is nothing to worry about. If no deal is announced as we head towards Christmas, then there will be cause for concern. I still think the Mets will give Wright what it takes to keep him a Met even though I am in the trade him camp.
