What exactly do you love about these guys, is it there sub.220 BA or there sub .300 OBA Toronto and Boston are both hitter parks and that’s what you get. We need a defensive catcher plain and simple

I would take either of them in a heartbeat. Anything’s gotta be better than Thole. My preference is Arencibia, but I’d be just as happy with Salty. Nice research on the post.

Using what few resources we have for catchers like these guys just seems like a bad idea. Just get a veteran to help Thole and then develop a catcher.

Well said BadBad. I, like everyone else, have my fingers crossed that they do the right thing and trade either a Dickey or Niese for some much needed help. I also have zero faith that they are capable of doing it. Add to that the cheapness involved with this group and what you get is another minor league contract guy. As much as people will say I am nuts, they have to deal from strength and it is in the excess pitching that they can do it. You have to trade one or both of these guys while they are hot commodities and wanted by other teams. They’ll let this opportunity fly by as they always do.

They seem to agree that cheaper is better The Wilpons have found, well Bud has found the Wilponzi’s a Match made in baseball HELL!

They have the same philosophy which is CHEAP! But make sure the price to go to a game is Expensive

Well I have to say I’m not pleased with either option. Salty is a power first hitter in Boston that has bad idea written all over it. Arencibia is of the same ilk. Niether of these player appeal to me.

I think it would be an upgrade and agree, it might be who we have to give up. We also have to remember we need to upgrade in outfield and that player might be better to obtain than a catcher. I can see us getting a catcher or outfielder and not both.
