Sarge,I completely disagree with you. I,myself take prescribed Adderall for ADHD. It doesn’t give me much of an edge when hitting and DEFINITELY doesn’t help me with defense. But saying people who take Adderall or prescribed amphetamines in general,is no different then baseball being segregated. If you’ve been prescribed them,then notify the league,and if the league eventually feels the need to,have team doctors or psychiatrists look at your previous medical records and see if you’ve been diagnosed with the actual defects the medicine is prescribed for. Anyway,sorry if I offended anyone anyway. Just had to put my take on it here.

Apparently ADHD seems to be the new “PED” of choice, quite a few NFL players have gotten busted.
If you can’t concentrate when you have a 90+ baseball thrown at you then don’t play or if another player is trying to knock your head off (NFL) and you can’t concentrate then get off field.

Which makes him doubly a dummy since this is his second offense.

Caught the first time, he only got a warning. Wouldn’t that have been the time to register this medication – if needed – with MLB? Since he did not, you have to wonder why. As in, he wasn’t using the drug to treat a known condition he had.

From what I read it’s b/c of the type of drug.
Amphetamines: first offense, you only get a warning. Second offense you get 25 games.

Steroids is an automatic 50 game suspension on the first offense.

Though I share with you disgust, I always thought a lifetime ban for the first time being caught was a little bit too extreme – but I too am now having second thoughts about that as well.

His stats for the year should be wiped out for using. Guys need to stop trying to cheat just to het ahead. If you don’t have talent, give it your all and bust your butt. Honestly, used should be banned from their sport if caught. Heck, they banned Pete Rose for life over betting. Ban them for using, cheating the game and the fans.
