I have always enjoyed your input from the booth about the game and the stories you shared. I still laugh at a comment you made in San Diego when you were commenting on how hot the weather was there. You said, “It was so hot you saw a dog chasing a cat and they were both walking” Have a blessed day. God Bless.

Ralph, like the Mets, has been a staple of my life since 1962. One of the security blankets one feels comfortable and secure with as he or she gets older, bridging the past with the present with the re-assurance of knowing certain things no matter how much they change still remain the same as well.

When he was given a night back in 2007, of course my wife and I had to be there to celebrate with him – and we DVD’d the ceremonies so we have them forever.

As Tom Seaver said that night “what a gem”. Happy birthday.

You forgot Janet Leigh. Always remembered the story Ralph told in the booth a few years back about the time Jamie Lee Curtis was at Shea and Ralph was talking to her and said “You know I used to date your mother.” and Jamie Lee Curtis threw her arms around him and cried out “Daddy!!!!”. Ralph said at the time he didn’t know whether to crap or go blind! I was ROTFL as were Keith and the other guys in the booth!. Priceless!

I always love when Ralph stops by the booth on weekends for a few innings. Even though I heard most of his stories before I dont mind listening to him tell them again, I had a chance to listen to some old games from this Mets DVD set I brought this year and the broadcast were so different back then. Every minute of the game wasn’t filled with non-stop chatter, interviews, sponsorships, etc. You heard a great game and they knew when to be quiet and let the game do all the talking. Games today are just non-stop noise.
