Which Players Had The Best Selling Jerseys In 2012
The MLB and the MLBPA released information on what players have the most popular jersey sales and once again the New York Yankees’ Derek Jeter tops the list according to the Biz of Baseball.
Here are the the top twenty players:
- Derek Jeter, New York Yankees
- Josh Hamilton, Texas Rangers
- Ichiro Suzuki, New York Yankees
- Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals
- Mike Trout, LA Angels of Anaheim
- Andrew McCutchen, Pittsburgh Pirates
- Yu Darvish, Texas Rangers
- Chipper Jones, Atlanta Braves
- Justin Verlander, Detroit Tigers
- Robinson Cano, New York Yankees
- Matt Kemp, Los Angeles Dodgers
- David Freese, St. Louis Cardinals
- Joey Votto, Cincinnati Reds
- Ian Kinsler, Texas Rangers
- Prince Fielder, Detroit Tigers
- Jose Bautista, Toronto Blue Jays
- Buster Posey, San Francisco Giants
- Yadier Molina, St. Louis Cardinals
- Miguel Cabrera, Detroit Tigers
- Brett Lawrie, Toronto Blue Jays
Obviously no Mets, but kind of surprising not to see Albert Pujols in the top twenty either. He has been a fixture in top five for nearly a decade. Brett Lawrie and David Freese are nice surprises as well as Mike Trout and Andrew McCutchen.

I’m shocked.. No David “The Captain” Wright jersey’s sale??? You’d think as much as he is loved here in NY that he’d be top 5 easily in jersey sales’s every year… Hmmmmm….
I am most surprised at the fact there are no Marlins on this list. If you’re Miami management, you can’t be happy with that. To have a launch of a new brand paired with a no logo, new team name and signing a bunch of new “stars” and to not crack the top 20 is a tad embarrassing
LOL, look at their uniforms. Who the hell would want to wear that?
The largest market in baseball is NY… and of course, the yankees players dominate the jersey sales… Meanwhile the little brother across town has nothing to show for.. but hey, let’s focus on a team down south with no fan base… That always makes me and everyone feel better
Brett Lawrie? Really?
With no NHL, the fans must be looking for other jerseys to wear up in Canada
I want to buy an RA DICKEY jersey but I’m having problems finding one with the “KID 8″ patch. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated !! LGM !
At the beginning of the year they were selling the patch separately as an add on for $10, but I just looked on Mets Shop and it doesn’t look like they have them for sale anymore. Maybe try Ebay.
Jeter’s Girl? Really? Come on….
Hey maybe he gave it to her as her reward…
Oh, included in that parting gift basket he has waiting in the limo he puts them all in after they spend the night? LOL
Must be many of them floating around then.
