Terry Collins Says Entire Coaching Staff Will Be Back
Terry Collins said his entire coaching staff will return for the 2013 season, according to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York.
Terry Collins’ entire staff will return for next season, the manager announced before Monday’s series opener against the Marlins.
Pitching coach Dan Warthen is the longest-tenured member of the staff, having ascended from Triple-A when Willie Randolph as well as Rick Peterson were axed in the 3 a.m. ET firing back in 2008. Hitting coach Dave Hudgens is completing his second season. Bench coach Bob Geren, third base coach Tim Teufel, first base coach Tom Goodwin and bullpen coach Ricky Bones all were in their first year on the staff.
This was widely expected as two high ranking Mets officials told Mike Puma of the New York Post that no changes were expected and that an official announcement could come Monday.

Boooooooo. Fire Hudgens!
I assume they all got raises too for the great work they did with the players ..These are very dark days for mets and jets fans like myself..Wow!!!
Just another reason why I don’t buy any of the bullshit these simpletons are selling about winning.
Are you kidding me? Warthen is back again? This feels like cruel and unusual punishment to me.
Rob, I was hoping you made a typo in the title. Well as I just tweeted:
1. I gotta admit after a worse season than 2011, I expected a couple of heads to roll. Pretty sure Wally wont go to Vegas, he’s likely gone.
2. Accountability is so hard to find these days in Flushing. From the top on down it’s non-existent. Sad to see this from my beloved Mets.
The first thing I thought of when I saw the entire staff would be back was what happens to Blackman?? I think he’ll definitely explore other options. Only way he stays at Las Vegas is if the guarantee him something significant for 2014, as in Terry’s office.
Meh, firing any of them would just be a scapegoat for the players failures anyway in my opinion.
I have never been that down on Warthen (Ducks head!) and I like how Niese has come along. As far as Hudgens his blame for the lack of hitting is about as much as his credit for what Tejada, Murphy, Wright and Reyes have hit while under him.
‘Meh, firing any of them would just be a scapegoat for the players failures anyway in my opinion.’
Beat me to it, Jerz. My opinion as well.
MNJ — Well said. We’ve got to get a better bullpen and send AAA players to Vegas.
Again ………………. Why?
What a joke !
Hudgens did such an amazing job thank god he’s coming back! Pathetic what a slap in the face to the fans of this pathetic organization
