I’m in a big housing co-operative and might be fortunate because we generate our own electricity independent of con edison and with all the wiring underground a power failure is not so much on our minds as it, of course, the high winds and blowing trees. With that in mind please, everyone, stay away from the windows even though it might seem safe. Branches could break off and shatter glass, etc.

I think the word “super” in terms of being a destructive force, Sandy is the equal of Sandy.

I thought the same myself that potentially the most destructive hurricane ever to hit our area is named after our general manager who has arguably been the most destructive force ever to hit our ball club.

Anyone notice that because of Angel Pagan the whole country can get a free taco during a few hours on Tuesday and that Angel now appears on a commercial? Thanks to Sandy our former center fielder is now on the verge of a world championship and that our other former center fielder turned right fielder was just one game away from the world series too.

But hey, in Sandy’s defense, our current center fielder is in the world series too – as a spectator in the stands.

Living here on the Jersey shore, I am not looking forward to this storm. Hoping my power doesn’t go out before tonight’s WS game as it’s looking like the Giants are heading for a sweep and their 2nd WS championship in 3 years.
