Interesting piece in the daily news yesterday about Pagan. I can’t get to there from here to post a link though.

in terms of Bay to Piazza, the trade was really a non-issue, because it was a ST hit. All 1 year guys (and Pagan is a FA). No prospects involved.

so, a rare trade where there is no down stream impact (getting stuck with a guy you don’t want, or losing a prospect that you are going to regret.)

that means, the onlyreal question is if pagan instead of the CF crew the mets did use was enough to make a material difference (as in, 74 wins vs. the WC?). And if not, then it was just a reasonable deal at the time (as in, not in hindsight) that has no impact going forward.
