Really, so is that why I continue to say that he isn’t a superstar and have in the desert multiple times proposed trading him.

Look, I realize the impact he has had on the organization. Anyone that thinks he hasn’t been a good solider and done everything he can to represent the team well is foolish. He is one of if not the best position player the Mets have produced and his place in Mets history is sealed an no one can take that away.
HOWEVER, as I have said I root for the Mets. It’s ALWAYS about the name on the front and not the name on the back for me. So if the Mets are better by signing him to an extension, I am all for that. If they are able to trade him for multiple pieces and the end result is the team is better, I am all for that. If they decide to just let him play out the year and they get a great year from him and make a run and then let him walk for picks and the end result is the team is better, I am all for that. Again, I want what ever it takes to make the end result be what all of us should be striving for, a sustainable winning Mets team.

And how do they portrait the guy? You mind telling me? He’s a good player, not a superstar nor a franchise player, nothing against the guy.. But people like you and others portrait him to be some type of godsend and he isn’t.. why spend money around this guy if superstars who can actually carry a team are not walking thru that door? Might as well trade him, get as much as you can now that his value is at its highest it’ll be and move on already.. We obviuosly didn’t win sh** with him either so what’s the point of paying him a large sum of money when it’s clear his best years are wayyyyyy behinfd him

That’s not the point. We both agree that unless the team gets a good deal on Wright they need to trade him. Where we differ is why. You have some unfounded grudge against him because of how the media and fans portray him. I realize that the team has too many holes to continue to spend like the Mets did in the past and have an unbalanced payroll.

Don’t tell that to the legion of DW fans who somehow want him to still be with the franchise for years to come and put a C on his chest, instead of moving on already…

Again, why is it that every chance you get you try to get a dig in on Wright? I would venture to say that there is enough players on the current team that suck enough to place blame elsewhere. Reyes, Wright and all those guys ultimately failed. Stop being such a poor sport that they ultimately chose Wright over Reyes and move on.
