I’ve watched Flores play in high “A” St. Lucie for 2 years and I agree he does show signs he may be a hitting machine some day. Only problem I observed with him is that the kid never appeared focused on the game. But I guess that’s not a reason to give up on him.

Well I have never been i favor of Upton myself I don’t like his Home and Away splits myself.

But as package of Nimmo, Flores, Duda, and Familia should be enough to get him if thats what they wanted to get.

Sorry Metsie and Alex….it will take a little more than short season rookie league talent to net players like Upton. Perhaps they can be used to complete a package, yes. But alone won’t be enough.

I’ve been impressed with Nimmo thus far.

And yes, Flores could be something special. He could also flounder around, Milledge style. AZ isn’t giving Upton away. It’ll take something more than an A ball or below type player to acquire him.

Why would either team jump on that? Why would Arizona trade Upton for a short season A-ball player (and some spare parts) and why would the Mets want a guy who has a career .250/.325/.406 outside of the second best hitter’s park in the majors?

You just constructed a trade where both sides lose.
