I think that uncharacteristic performance as you put it can be attributed to the pain he felt from the abdominal tear he’s been pitching with since April. He said after one pitch he made, it really flared up to the point that it made it a little difficult to catch his breath. The fact that he pitched several more innings is just a testament to the type of pitcher RA is.

Mets have options on both RA and DW that they can exercise if need be, right? So don’t give me that pessimistic BS about seeing the last of these guys in an NYM uniform. If they don’t want an angry mob marching to the Mets offices with pitchforks and torches, they better re-sign these guys and build around them for the future.
Uncharacteristic performance from RA last night, though. Gave up 2 jacks and was lucky to get bailed out by the offense for the no decision. I still think he’s a shoo-in for the Cy Young Award this year, though.

I lost all respect for Rolling Stone Music review after they gave Lupe 3 stars out of 5, but awarded the 2 Chainz album 3.5 … It was trash compared to Lupe’s.

It’s still not completely Old Lupe, but I enjoyed the album none the less.

Around My Way samples my favorite Jazz beat ever, and it is pretty good. Lamborghini Angels is a lot deeper than people realize, and it has a pretty good flow.

B*tch Bad is a damn good piece of storytelling. There are some annoying mainstream style hooks and such but overall… I did enjoy the album. He’s a thoughtful rapper and one of the few that allows me to believe that the industry isn’t dead.

They said after the game that Dickey is in the top two in every major pitching category. I hope he gets the Cy Young. When do we find out does anyone know?

RA Dickey revealing after the game tonight that he’s having surgery on the 18th for a torn abdominal muscle. Said it happened pretty early on in the season. He credits the trainers, doctors, coaches for working their magic which allowed him to take the mound every 5th day with that tear.

Said in the 2nd inning tonight after one particular pitch he really aggravated it. Pain almost took his breath away. Told TC he’d give it all he had left and he did pitch on until he couldn’t pitch anymore.

Told the media tonight if that didn’t happen in the 2nd inning tonight, likely he’s not having that conversation with them right now.

Yikes! I’d say the magic is RA Dickey for pitching a good part of the season with that tear, putting up the numbers he put up. Add that in the plus column for him on the CY race.
