It should be pointed out that some of that was the result of moving to a 6 man rotation in August…

As for Mejia they should put him at starter and keep him there until at least Santana’s future is sorted out.

Pelfrey will get no more than an MiL offer which means he is likely to go elsewhere…
Wheeler is the backup starter plan for next year…

Young is history here. Unless they decide to go with a 6 Man rotation the entire year.
And I’m not really opposed to that notion.

I keep Familia and trade Mejia. I like what Familia showed in Sept. and still not impressed with Mejia. Maybe we can get an outfielder with him in a package.

I think Familia will end up being solid long reliever and spot starter for the Mets. I’m not so sure I can say the same for Hefner. I still dont know what to make of Mejia, he’s an enigma to me.

I dont trust any of these pitchers and would prefer to not see any of them next season. I’d rather package them up for just one solid and reliable reliever that could be counted on or a decent rightfielder with some power..

Strange post John, but then again the back half was strange. I really hope that Hefner is the long man next year. I thought he distinguished himself rather well. His ERA looks rough but he kept his walks down and was a rookie. He doesn’t strike out a ton of guys but IMO he looked good except a couple of starts. Our pen is pretty thin and while I would prefer a LH long man he looked right for the part, or at least better than most on the team.
