I agree about Turner. They want him in the lineup and need a left-fielder. The kid wants to play and gives his all and is willing to go and do anything to stay with the Mets and in the line-up. More power to him and best of luck.

I’m thinking that Justin Turner is going to be learning the corner outfield positions in winter ball. I look for him get alot of playing time next year.

I like Ikes all around game over anyone on this team but us Mets fans sure know how to over-react when a player is having a good stretch and also over-react when they are struggling.

There is no room for a middle ground in MetsLand. you are either GREAT and a future hall of famer or a Dog that needs to be traded yesterday. But you can change opinions of you fro m one game to another.

Agree with you Metsie as seen especially last year with Card being hot at end of season.

I have always thought that Royal were a starter or two away from competing in the AL Central, they have the position players, young ones, and just need a dependable starting rotation.

Great quote from Collins. I truly believe what Collins said as well. I think one of the best decisions the organization made was not sending Ike down even though they had a legitimate case for doing so with how badly Ike had struggled. Looking back when the organization got together after the trip to Pittsburgh and made the decision for Ike to work it out up at the Bigs Ike was hitting .159/BA with 5/HR and 15/RBI over 42 games. He was on pace for a 20/HR 58/RBI season. That he has hit over his next 105 games .255/BA with 25/HR and 73/RBI is a testament to Ike.

I look forward to seeing Ike (if not traded) to have a solid season next year.

I certainly understand the issues you guys have with Wright…
I think it comes down to what he COULD have been vs what he is….

He’s not a Beltran, nor a Howard. When he tries to be is when he struggles!

As Clint once said “A Man has got to know his limitations!”

When Wright stays within himself he is productive. And productive enough to be worth having provided he isn’t the only thing you have and rely on.

Just a Quickie on Davey resting his guys….

Resting is fine but you have to be careful that you don’t let them rust due to lack of playing going into the Playoffs.

The Hot team (and hot hitters) at the end of the season are the ones who usually carry you through the playoffs.

Yes resting them is good but you don’t want to risk cooling them off with the bat either.

Imagine what we might have gotten had he NOT struggled so much the first two months?

The Guy is a keeper!

Get a Power RH Bat to put behind him in the lineup and you have the heart of your order set provided we keep Wright.

And I know how you feel about Wright…But with Ike and a Power RH Bat to go with him then Wright doesn’t need to be the guy you feel he hasn’t been he will just be that guy who helps Ike and the others.

From people wanting to bench him or send him to triple A, ike’s turnaround should be one of the hew mets highlites for the season. the guy has been mpre or less what we expected from him. aside from those 2 months i don’t see why this guy cannot be a legitimate MVP contender for us for years to come. without any excuse or protection the man put up really good numbers, speciall since June 12, where his numbers have been REALLY GOOD!
