IMHO, we should trade the guy for as much as we can now that his value is up. He’d be cheap next year, a team might be willing to give up a few prospects for him. Dickey is a good pitcher, but we all know we’re punting 2013, might as well keep piling up good prospects to have a solid team by 2014.

Just the Johann no-hitter, I DVR’d the encore presentation and will dub it onto DVD-R for posterity.

The crowd was into it but I can’t believe the actual attendance was 31,000. The upper deck past the bases appeared irtually empty. When I sat in the upper deck it was packed along with all three left field levels and the attendance was announced at just about 38,000. I can’t believe only 7,000 less would make the park appear so much more less attended.

Might be because of the many ticket holders who did not show up or able to sell their already paid for seats due to being unable to match the Mets 1/2 price offers and a big walk up at game time.

Any thoughts?

He was unhittbale for 3 months, but has allowed 4 HRs in his last dozen outings, totalling 9 innings. And that’s the second time in a week he imperiled a Dickey win. But he should be re-signed (as oppsed to resigned). But the moment belongs to the Really Awesome one. See you in Miami next week, RA!

Anyways I’ve never felt so proud of a players individual accomplishment as RA getting number 20. He’s had so many personal and professional roadblocks in his life so it has extra special meaning for him I’m sure. The guy is just so well grounded in his outlook on life and I hope the cheapo Wilpons open those moth eaten wallets and resign him for what he has been worth to this club in performance and good will.
Big cheers for David Wright too!!! Without his 3 run bomb this game is lost.

Great game overall. The Mets scored for Dickey with Wright hitting a 3 run HR to cap things off and it was needed as Rauch who for the 3rd straight appearance out of the pen has struggled and gave up a 2 run HR. Luckily Parnell was able to come in and close it out to allow the Mets fans that were there to start the celebration of R.A. as chants of R.A. and Cy Young rang out amongst the crowd.

Congrats to R.A. on a CY Young season. His story of perseverance after all his adversities has been a great one.
