Every time he played the game he played hard and there was always the threat of the long ball. You can just tell right now or catchers are not of the caliber of those mentioned in the piece. (Grote, Carter and 31). Catchers are so critical in the game and they are obvious difference makers on any squad.

Interestingly enough and in my opinion having seen Mike play and be interviewed countless times, he drafts higher as a person than he did as a ball player. Now that says it all. Here’s to Piazza for this and every ensuing birthday and God Bless his family.
