What this team needs is a RH power bat, not another LH hitting OF.

But, big But, any trade for possible RH bat from Cleveland needs to include the return of Joe Smith, worst inclusion by Mets in Johan trade.P

21-14, 3.17 ERA, WHIP 1.28, 365 G AND 2-1 GO/A0, .215 vs RH batters.
He’d be perfect fit for this awful BP, just thinking out loud.

I apologize to anyone who may have been offended or confused by comments left by PeteyPete which I just deleted. Unfortunately there are a couple of guys one named Charles and the other named Mack who you know from Macks Mets and Mets360.

They seem to have a huge problem with Pete for some reason simply because he works so hard to bring you the best minor league coverage he possibly can. Some people became envious of his access to all our players, coaches, managers and GMs.

The real PeteyPete would never leave anything offensive like that because it’s simply not in his nature. In fact, Pete hasn’t been around in just over a week because he is on vacation.

Anyway, pardon the interruption. It’s always something.

I’m totally not seeing any logic in this. You want to trade Ike Davis who is under team control for 4 more years for a one year rental in Choo whose best days are behind him? No way. Why of the 1,000 or so baseball players out there, how you happened across Choo is kind of bizarre to me. What difference can you possibly think he would make on this Mets team starving for power and yet you want to dispatch the only real power threat we have?

Sean — When I first read the headline, I thought of Choo Choo Coleman. He was a great character in Mets baseball history. Oh well, we’re not going to have the comic relief we deserve after the excruciating loss to the Phillies last night.

Regarding the Amazin’ Hypotheticals, it’s not a trade I would make but then again, as Terry said, everything, every player is on the table. Thanks for your thoughts.

If you can make it Choo + Perez, then Ike could be consided, but yes, straight up I would say no.

It’s kind of odd, that it’s difficult to gauge what his trade value will be. So much promise vs. the can’t hit lefties…

I couldn’t agree with Alex68 more, NO WAY would I trade Ike for Choo, Ike is still learning how to hit, his power is already there, Choo had his best year already, plus trading for a guy over 30 who’s changing leagues would be a disaster no matter who you give up
