But I think with few exceptions every player wants to do well. Maybe there is a keyboard flu going around which makes some of us forget the great game of baseball is a meritocracy and the other team’s players don’t want our guys to succeed between the lines. This typically results from a lack of superior ability by guys who wear Mets uniforms.

I think the voters will do anything to make sure Dickey doesnt win a Cy Young even if he wins the magic 20. Knuckleballs are a trick pitch to them and you’d be surprised how many will hold that against him.

Dickey who never ceases to amaze. He is such an incredible athlete and a wonderful and genuine human being too. I had the pleasure of attending his book signing and he is so softspoken and kind.
