Pagan may be having a better year, but not by much. And with his rumored demeanor in the clubhouse I can’t be all too upset about the minor advantage in production.

You can’t expect a guy who’s been an infielder almost all his life, to turn into a gold glove caliber CFer overnight – It’s gonna take time before he’s fully comfortable out there.

I’d like to see LA throw Uribe out in CF and see how he does. lol. THEN you’d see why it’s ridiculous to compare the two.

Everyone is talking about his arm, OK, so if is arm is bad, then he could move to LF – I see left fielders all the time that have weak arms – That shouldn’t disqualify him as a promising player.

And why doesn’t anybody take in to account that this is his 1st season in the majors? Maybe, just maybe, he’ll improve his plate discipline? If you remember, Reyes didn’t walk either when he 1st came up.

Give the kid a chance! My god.

And I believe all these attitude issues are overblown – I haven’t heard him causing any problems here – Kicking a helmet? Name me one player that hasn’t kicked a helmet or threw a bat in anger – or something of that nature. Everybody does that stuff.

Torres has sucked all season long.

Both Duda and Kirk have played well at some point!
Something Torres has never done!

He gave up an earned run 4 games ago, less than 10 PA ago

So what is your 37/47 number in referemnce to?
The amount of times your eye’s blinked and caught a run he allowed to score?

Here we are same people who agreed it was time for Kirk to go down are stil trying to make excuses for the Bullpen and Torres when both have been far worse than anyone else we have complained about!

Your constant defense of these guys who have not performed can only be explained as you think if Sandy got the guy his bad performance can be excused.

Note the rest of us don’t sit here and excuse Kirk’s Ks, Bay Suckitude and even Duda’s struggles in the field merely because Omar got him!

Hell I even have applauded FF for getting his act more together just before he got hurt!

But you guys on one hand constantly gripe about a guy like Thole for having passed balls (despite the fact he catches the only knuckleballer in the league) when he is a better everyday player than Torres is?

Your defense of those guys isn’t about what they have done it’s all about the fact Sandy is on the hook for their performance and the only reason not to cite them is because it seems to make the point of those who have said Sandy has done a poor job!

You want to sit (or claim to sit) on the fence about Sandy fine!

Stop Jumping off that fence to defend his acquisitions and then try and jump back onto the fence hoping no one saw you jump off!

Kirk and Duda were sent down because they were regressing and they need to fix whatever is wrong or else they will never be MLB players. They also struggle to hit LHP which is something the Mets need. With Baxter and Valdespin outplaying them and Bay being forced upon us both Kirk and Duda are useless on the MLB roster, whereas Torres, despite having worse overall numbers, provides a skill set that Duda and Kirk do not provide.

If you accept the reality that Bay is going to play the majority of the games, regardless of how he performs you can finally understand why Kirk and Duda being sent down is the logical move.
