Mets Promote LHP Garrett Olson
Following the news that Tim Byrdak has a torn anterior capsule in his left shoulder, the Mets announced that Garrett Olson will be recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday. He will be added to the team’s active roster before today’s game against the Marlins.
In 25 appearances for Triple-A Buffalo this year, Olson has made 21 starts and has a 4.56 ERA in 108.2 innings pitched. Left-handed hitters have hit .270 against him in 33 1/3 innings against them this season.
With the loss of Byrdak for the season,Terry Collins had said he wanted a second southpaw in the pen along with Josh Edgin.
The Mets have not yet announced the corresponding roster move to make room for Olson on the active roster, but Elvin Ramirez appears to be the player on the bubble.

That is just AWFUL…… SMH…
Why not promote Carson? He’s pitching well and already on the 40 man roster.
He was called up to Buffalo only about a week and a half ago.
Well, sure. If you want to be logical and use facts and junk.
In a nutshell….MLB experience…look at the bright side, he has only 1 balk in over 100 MLB games!
This is an odd move. I do not see how this guy could help; however, who knows he may be lights out LGM
This guy looks like a scrub.
The greatest player of all time was an over weight alcoholic. We’re not selling jeans here.
“We’re not selling jeans here” LOL
Yes why not call up Carson. I want to see Darin Gorski in the team. Hes really good. Hes very effective. We have really good players in development. But we need to make desition on Bay and R.A. Dickey. Why R.A. Dickey he never gone have another season like this one. So trade him and get good 2B and Reliever. Look this trade that help each team, Os send Nolan Reimold and Pedro Strop to Mets for R.A. Dickey.
Why not call up Carson? because these are the Mets.
joe gomes — Because Carson is a nice guy who really is just a rag doll to good hitters . . . .
Fast, predictable and straight are his pitches.
Many fans think Ollie Perez milked the Mets for all he could.
How about Garrett Olson?
