Who are our “go to” batters with men on base? Tejada, Wright, and ? Murphy sometimes, Davis recently but not, others Cedeno?

It is amazing how encouraged we were before the ASG and how fast that was removed with the departure of K Nu and Duda and their bats.(literally and figuratively)

Casts a pall on the season and provides an in depth look at the future. Our OF is the issue. OK with Shoppach/Thole, Davis, Murphy (may be gone come spring…at least that is what is being bandied about) and Wright. Can’t say or do the same for the OF. Next years rotation to be Santana, Dickey, Niese, Harvey, Wheeler and I am ok with that as well. We may swing something for Upton and I would love to sign Hamilton with all of his issues and bring him to the home run apple. Jason Bay is becoming an anchor on the bench. Shame. Everyone else from Torres to K Nu and everybody in between are fourth outfielders.

Does it matter? It will be the same if not worse coming next season. this team is showing its true colors, this is what they are, they overachieve and it was obvious that they were ok enough to be in the hunt, but needed help, we all saw it, not the GM. so look forward to me predicting 68 wins next year.

#1 – Surprised that Young gave up 0 runs, but the Reds have a few holes without Votto and Rolen.

#2 – Is Edgin the next candidate for shoulder surgery. The FO and TC can’t be ignorant enough to have only 1 lefty again, can they? Don’t answer that question.

#3 – 0 for 8 with RISP says it all, and has been just as big of reason for their downfall since AS break.

#4 – ..and a 6 man rotation comment … can’t believe the FO and management keep making these open-ended statements that they will eventually take back, change, or pretend never happened.

Guy, when the engineer of the team, the man in charge of building the team gives up on you half way into the season, when the players have ove achive and exceeded expactions what else do you expect? Why would the players try their hardest when the GM and the FO doesn’t care? what else they needed to prove? but hey, all hope is not lost, we acquire a Catcher who’s a career 227 hitter with limited power and that may not even be here next year because the mets are unsure whether they’d have enough money (again) to spend in the offseason.
so, keep fingers cross.

I know that Young had to come out but is it me but it seems TC didn’t think about extra innings the way the game was going with Mets not scoring so he used 4 BP pitchers but didn’t use FF in a definite save/hold important situation going into 10th inning trying to see if team scores but bring in Acosta instead of FF was bad, unless FF was worn out from Sunday, though he had an off day.

Anyway it seems that even with both our LH extra base/HR power bats in lineup from bench didn’t make a difference, Spin still takes a long swing and Baxter is not showing me anything plus Ike is back in power slump, AGAIN!

Wow even in HR happy park we couldn’t get one run; no bunting or safety squeeze maybe with runner on 3rd, Torres can’t even make contact with RISP while Young almost lines one over Phillips head, he hit the ball harder than most of the regulars in lineup, come on guys you can’t expect Wright and Murph or Tejada to bail you out of your bad at bats.

In a game where neither side wanted to drive a run in and left a combined 24 men on base you had to think the home team had the edge once the game got to the bottom of the 9th.

Edgin’s 3rd straight outing giving up a run but this is what happens when you bring kids up. You have to take the lows with the highs.

This loss is squarely on the offense and it’s inability to score a run.

Dickey on the hill 2morrow hopefully we can at least win and maintain a chance to take the series.
