And yet every year some schmuck comes along and tries to make a reliever out of him which he clearly doesnt have the will for. His stats as a starter blow Wheeler and Harvey out of the water but he doesn’t fit the all american image so it gets shoved under the rug. When Mejia was the team’s Number ONE prospect, he didn’t get handed the title based on where he was drafted, he earned it with his performance. Plus he’s younger than either one of Harvey and Wheeler. The good news is that despite two front offices who mishandled him and especially this one who nearly ruined his career, Mejia has overcome all odds and proves he’s still a legit top rotation starter.

Hopefully the Mets realize this and there are teams that would give up something valuable for him…
