I do agree with you that WE may not learn a whole lot about THEM, but they just might learn a little. Think of the typical rookie mistakes that so many kids make. Let's let them use up a few during this waste of a year. Maybe next year they'll be that much more mentally prepared.
Plus, I don't need to see Thole, Young, Torres, or ANY of the bullpen again this year.

I agree bring up Den decker, Mejia, wheeler, I'm a bit scard on familia, maybe even Wilmer Flores a lot of other teams promote players from Double A. I only watch Mets games now is to see if Matt Harvey progress,if Tejada can be stable, Davis can get it back. Truefully I hope the Mets don't bring back Wright do we really need to see our BEST player take a month or two off every season. We should trade him in the off season for a couple true Outfielf prospect let Wilmer come up and play

I am with you in that sentiment Dan, But I'm not even sure it has to be about bringing up kids.

The real question is why are we starting players who have or may not have a place here in 2013?

Why are we starting Torres still?
Why are we NOT starting Shoppach more to get a read on if he should be kept for 2013?
Why do we keep sitting Ike Davis when he is finally hitting to his average in the month of August?
Why are we not giving Murphy all the time at 2B where he can get experience, improve the glove towards next year?
Why is Ramon Ramirez still on the active roster?
What do we hope to accomplish throwing Acosta and Parnell out there?

It all goes back to what I have been saying about the FO's plan....

The plan is to WAIT for something to happen and they will keep using what they have until someone falls from the sky that changes that!

We should be actively trading and looking to make space on the 40 man which is a mess right now.
We should be using every game from now till the season is over to audition and start only players who will be here in 2013.

The longer they wait for things to get better just means the longer they will have to wait before the fans come back to the stands so they can work without budget constraints.

And I fear what is more likely is the Fans will simply OUT WAIT the waiters until they gte fired and someone new comes in to re-build the team who is a little more proactive.

We have been seeing the kids Tejada, Davis, Valdespin, Edgin, Harvey but I know what you mean. You want to see more kids. At this point the only thing the Mets are playing for is to be a spoiler and like Joe D mentioned the other day trying to get to .500.

There really is no need to keep Duda down. Call him back up and at least allow him to finish the season at the Bigs on a good note. Same for Capt Kirk when and if he is able to play in games again before the season is over. I don't think they will dfa people to do this but once Sept 1 rolls around they should be up and playing.

Thank you Dan, I've been crying out for someone sensible to talk the truth about the mess we're forced to watch.

You know what I did last night? I tuned into America's Got Talent. Isn't it a shame that you have to turn to Howard Stern, Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandell for entertainment when the guys at Citi Field can't get out of their own way?

I agree with you. I don't want to see Chris Young any more. It's always the same crap. Pitch 5 brilliant innings then get hammered in the 6th.

It's boring, it's futile, it's agonizing. Enough already.

Fred Wilpon, sell the f..kin team already. I'm tired of hearing about your mess with Bernie Madoff. I've got my own problems. And while your at it, take Sandy Alderson and Terry Collins with you. LOSERS.

to be fair to them, you do need to at least make sure the "kids" are reasonably ready. Either developed enough to be ready for the finishing touches of MLB, or recoverred enough physically from injury to not have to be babied.

and 9/1 is traditionally when you will see the next wave of prospects getting their initiation.

I will say that at this point, Duda needs to be back up and playing LF every day. And you are about to see mchugh (the most logical and deserving replacement) in the rotation, and I highly suspect Mejia for some starts in September. So you will be getting your wish.

other than that, Dekker has been pretty rough until very recently, so bringing him up does not seem that it will serve anyone well (him or the team) just yet. Other than that, the positional prospects are just not there. maybe a few more pen arms to try out.
