1st really poor start for Young this season. I want to believe it had more to do with the 8 days rest than anything else. Time will tell I suppose. Didn’t get to see much of the game other than an inning or 2 but did get to see Edgin come in with the bases loaded and get the 2 k’s that he did. Could not help but be impressed with his debut.
Dickey is on the hill today need a good performance from him and the Mets bats to beat up on the righty. I see Collins has Spin in today vs the righty as opposed to Hairston. Hopefully Spin can reward Collins choice of inserting him in the lineup.

Reminds me of a right fielder the Mets used to have. Gone after the season, may as well trade him. Advanced age, sort of defying health expectations, generally playing well. The value would never be higher. You may be right.

I disagree with you in terms of Chris Young, he is a serviceable back of the order pitcher “IF” he can stay healthy (Which he has never done).

I do agree that Harvey should be called up, certain Mets fans who are against Harvey coming up think if he somehow struggles when called up he’d be ruined which is asinine. If his psyche is that fragile then guess what? He will never make it as a pro and babying him now will only make things worst and lead to him being exposed whenever they do decide to promote him.

The Mets “Genius 3 Headed Monster” Front Office stated they will allow their prospects to promote themselves based on their play. I think Harvey has done that which is why everyone is asking for him to replace Gee and not Familia whom has struggled (but has looks good as of late).

FYI Tampametsfan: If this was a poorly written article then you just topped it with this post. Dude when you criticize what someone else writes/types you HAVE to at the very least make sure your post is flawless and you failed miserably in accomplishing that…..and lol at you for just correcting the “or not” part and not the rest

Time to stop giving Lucas Duda a free pass. His offense does not justify his total lack of defensive ability. You don’t need to see his saber #’s to know he is poor outfielder. Lack of speed, jump, and poor routes are evident by watching him. You might give him a pass if he was tearing the cover off the ball, but that’s not happening. His non-aggressive approach is watch two fastballs down the middle and flail away at a breaking ball in the dirt especially against lefty pitchers. His splits say he should be platooned at best…..LH- ba 228, 1 HR in 46 ab……RH- ba 268, 1HR in 18 ab. He appears lost at the plate, and with his oft-mentioned fragile confidence, thing can only get worse. Collins did not have any problem sitting Ike when he struggled, and Duda should be treated the same. It appears we are stuck with a bunch of platoon type outfielders, so let’s platoon them.

Dave, no mention of the Misadventures of Lucas Duda in RF? This guy is getting more & more frustrating to watch from both sides of the coin (Offense/defense).

Also, Thole is a shitty play caller. Can we get a REAL catcher?

This was a very poorly written article. Please learn hire to write. You should never mix present and past tense.
As for the game, this is typical Chris Young. He us a worthless pitcher. He can barely hit 80mph anymore. If he doesnt hit his spots perfectly he is going to just be throwing home run derby. The Mets need to bring up Harvey if they care at all about this year. If they don’t it just shows that this ownership doesn’t care about even attempting to put a good team together.
