Hi Joey,

I too think the Wilpons would rush Harvey and Wheeler to the bigs. I am not disgusted by this. I’ve been calling for a 6 man rotation through the heat of the summer. Now is the time. Yes it should boost the ticket sales. The last thing I want to see is more Marginal Vetrerans brought in by Sandy. These guys are a big part of the plans, so work the plan, keep the Buffalo/Bingo express going.

A lot of pitchers come from Double A to the bigs. It seems this front office wants them to face those veteran AAAA hitters they have in AAA. I do not think it should preclude his coming up, just that it will.

Well, the Costa report makes me wonder if Gary Cohen was more than just making idle conversation with Ron Darling when he raised the question of would it hurt to bring up Wheeler as well as Harvey (Darling was adamant about Wheeler not being ready, citing the need for him to work more on his change up).

I have become so skeptical about the wisdom of this ownership that they might be the ones pushing for Wheeler to come up just to sell some extra tickets. Don’t take that idea of mine serious – it’s just meant to reflect my disgust with this ownership.

Gee, golly Miss Molly, Sandy Alderson is going to go see a game and decide if a guy is readsy. what a crock of pure arrogant horse manure. Everyone except the sandy kool aide drinking quickly shrinking crowd knows that one performance is baseball tells you nothing. but the lord and master kis going to leave his throne for a few hours and try to make a decision. Calling prospects up too early doesn’t ruin them. If a player has the proper stats at the proper age in the minors, call him up.

I truly doubt this is the case. The closest I see Wheeler with the Mets is out of spring training if he breaks camp with us and even then I still believe that is a 10-15% chance because to make that happen I believe he just has to flat out dominate everyone he faces in spring training also his pitches have to have so much movement and zip that not even the proven hitters can not touch it. I would call Wheeler up next season around early August if we are in the same situation we are in now with a gap in the starting rotation. As for Harvey I believe Sandy is doing everything right. Go and see his outing on Monday and then based on his performance then you see if he is ready or not. If he happens to struggle Monday then I rather wait until September but because baseball is a game of failure, if by any chance he happens to struggle also all August then I rather wait until spring training and have Harvey break camp with the Mets because Young will already be on his way with a new team for the reason being that i doubt he would want to stay with the Mets to pitch in the bullpen because that is really the only position he will have with us as long as Dickey, Santana, Niese, Gee and Harvey are with us in 2013. That’s just my take, I know we are all different and think different so I understand why someone would disagree with my opinion, nevertheless that’s what I would do if I played Sandy for this situation.

Sounds like an all hands on deck sort of thing, not that Wheeler is seriously being considered.
