To get rid of one’s top hitter who was not going to be signed but was helping a team pull off the unexpected and be right in the thick of a wild card race is saying something as well. To show no faith in the team and have it’s astute philosophical leader and knuckle ball pitcher say that though the entire team had faith in itself the front office giving up on them was hard to swallow…, well, that’s saying something too.

The Mets had no intention of signing Beltran and Wheeler is way more than we could have expected. Once again, just my opinion. The guys has better stuff than Harvey and that’s saying something.

Let’s hope the current bad stretch for Wheeler is just part of the learning curb and not that of Double-A hitters catching up to him. Would love for him to be called up while Beltran is still playing so we can possibly see a classic confrontation of those two eras at least once.
