This game is all about making adjustments and then counter-adjustments. It’s the evolution of a player. Harvey had the same thing happen to him when he first got to AA last year, and again now at AAA. The good ones find a way to adapt. Edgin hit a wall when first brought up to AAA but has been pitching much better of late, there’s another example.

Gorski started out at AA this year right where he left off at Lucie last year. He looked terrific for about five or six starts and then ran into a wall. He struggled for about six starts or so, and then lately has shown signs of life. He seems to have made some adjustments, and is pitching much better of late. It could also have been a dead arm period he went through too. In any case I’m not too worried about the rough patch he hit at AA. It happens to most players before they adjust to the higher level of competition. Gorski is a very smart guy, and he knows a lot about how to pitch without that killer fastball. With a little luck, he should start to gain some positive momentum and confidence in the second half this year.
