MMO Minors: A Demotion For Familia and A Promotion For Mateo Might Be Imminent
I find it amazing how little attention RHP Luis Mateo gets when the topic of conversation is about the Mets’ best pitching prospects. If you didn’t know any better you would think that Zack Wheeler, Jeurys Familia, Matt Harvey and one or two others, were the only starting pitchers in the Mets minor league system. So let me introduce you to rising star Luis Mateo, currently the hottest pitcher in the Mets organization. This very young and [...]

Ramblings from Henry and Fayette Streets The Week That Was June 25th - July 1st If not for a win in Erie on Monday, the Binghamton Mets would have gone 0-for-the week. After their 11-5 victory at Jerry Uht Park against the SeaWolves, the B-Mets were swept at home in a four game series against the Bowie BaySox, and started off their four game set against the Altoona Curve with two more losses over the weekend. Mets Farm Report: Mateo Tosses Another Gem, Familia and Mazzoni Get Rocked
Durham 12, Buffalo 6 By Connor O’Brien Coming off a 12-6 loss to the Durham Bulls on Saturday night, the Bisons lost by the same score in yesterday’s afternoon game. Jeurys Familia took the hill for the Mets, looking to stop the Bisons’ six-game losing streak to the Bulls. Familia came into the night with an ERA close to five and had been struggling with his command. Yesterday’s game was more of the same. In [...]

Dodgers Take Advantage Of Mets’ NL Worst Defense To Avoid Sweep
It was a rough end to an otherwise exceptional series for the New York Mets as the failed to complete the four game sweep of the Dodgers, with poor pitching and sloppy defense being the name of the game as they fell by a lopsided score of 8-3. Dillon Gee got the nod for New York and labored through his outing to say the least. After Scott Hairston gave the Mets an early lead in [...]

Who Misses Jose Reyes?
It’s funny how some things work out in this game. About a year ago this week we were staging a “Don’t Trade Reyes Rally” at Citi Field and everyday we were consumed with countless posts about keeping Reyes at all costs and how the team would be doomed if we lost him. I oughta know because I wrote a handful of those posts myself. But this why I love baseball so much. No matter how hard you [...]
