Until Dekker eliminates the strikeouts he will have a tough time getting any regular major league time just with his speed and OF play.
Why would anyone in this orgainizaiton even consider bringing up the Torch Acosta? Really?

When will Ramirez translate that awesome fastball into major league fastball? Soon cause he could be help needed in BP, maybe?

Joe, the needing to see behind the box score goes further than that. People often look at BBs and equating them to control issues (lack of control).

But, sometimes walks indicate good control, when pitchers work around a batter.

Think of games where a lefty started, and sawyWright ends up with 3 walks beacuse they pitched around him.

well, some SP ends up with 3 walks, but does not mean they have control issues.

Oh, and by the way Alex my man! I never said I expected a big uear from Marte or anything even close. He finished 2011 rehabbing a broken wrist suffered in the AFL. My most recent and comprehensive remarks about Marte before this season started went like this. On March 17th Petey wrote:

“Jefry Marte – Some players get tough breaks, but this one was to Marte’s wrist, and at the worst possible time for the young man. It came last October in the Arizona Fall League, as he was coming off his best offensive and defensive regular season thus far. The Mets were hoping a solid showing in the AFL would help Marte make the jump to AA this season. Instead Marte is still rehabbing and has not made an appearance in big league camp. Several questions cloud Marte’s future with the organization right now. When will he return? Will he be at full strength? How will he adapt to AA? Stay tuned.”

That’s it in it’s entirety and unedited. Nothing about my expectations were even mentioned. I asked a bunch of questions which we now have pretty good answers to. Not that I have been right with all of my many bold predictions I made before the season started. I have not always been right. I predicted a big year for Tillman Pugh, now he is called Tillman Who? So I am not perfect by any means, but don’t tell me I said something if I never said it. Thank you.

Nimmo been getting a lot of clutch hits and showing power down in Brooklyn showing some promise. I still can’t believe people was giving up on him after 10 games.

I know Vaughn has had a terrible year, shown no growth. Taijeron and den Dekker have both struggled since being moved up. Josh Rodriguez has had a very fine year, and he doesn’t get any attention. Wilfredo Tovar has been a very pleasant surprise, and could have a little trade value now as well. You are right though, it’s all been about the pitching in our system this year.

Hey Alex! Man it looks like Albert Cordero fell off the map this year huh? But at least Francisco Pena and Marte have shown some life this season. I’m still hoping for a big finish to the year for Lagares and Gilbert Gomez. But what in the world is going on with Akeel Morris and Chase Huchingson? Those guys can’t get anyone out these days.

This game was actually very close, and fairly tense as the Cyclones tried to hang onto a one run lead heading into the ninth, but a big two-out double in the top of the ninth by Brandon Nimmo scored two runs and then as the play developed, Renegade shortstop Ryan Dunn over-threw second-base trying to throw behind Nimmo. The ball rolled out into a deserted right-field as Nimmo dashed around the bases to score the games final run and make the score 7-3.

There’s something you dont get in a boxscore! I like to read everyone’s reports elsewhere and you can really tell the difference between who were at the games or watched and who didn’t.
