Also almost all of his walk off hits have happened in April and May.

The latest he’s ever had one i think is the August game of 2008. Wow, real big time performer there. Another case where the numbers don’t tell the real story.

Again, maybe he’s turning a corner OR maybe not. We have an entire half a season to see and hopefully they will be playing meaningful baseball in September.

Let’s see how he performs when the stakes are higher. Than talk to me.

He is not Captain Clutch. One walk off hit in 4 years does not erase a legacy of failing in big spots. Is it a positive sign going forward? Maybe.

But it was still one game.

One game.

One game does not turn him into something he is not. He will have to do it over and over and if the Mets are in a pennant race in September let’s see if he can deliver under pressure when it matters the most before we anoint somebody “Captain Clutch” after one stupid game.

interesting from the chart, that the first half used to be a lot longer. 94 games is a full 10% more of the season (so those stats are 60% of a year vs. 50% this year).

Certainly hope he keeps it up.
