He’s 33 years old, I really don’t think he’s totally lost his skills. Bay’s obv been a disappointment, he obv has pressed and put pressure on himself to produce and anytime he shows signs of getting anything going he gets nicked up and isn’t the same hitter. At the very least this concussion may have let his ribs heal, all I know is if he become three quarters of what he was in Boston and his bat gets us into the playoffs and maybe more, it will go a long way towards forgetting his first 2.5 years here…this Mets team this year is a story of a lot of guys overcoming personal demons, slumps, injuries, he’s in a supportive environment, I still think he can be part of the ‘believe it’ Mets..

Also Alderson has some make or break decisions in the next couple weeks, alot of arms down, gonna need some help can’t hang on much longer w this staff..

I get the feeling Valdespin is going to play his way into the everyday lime up at some point. He has pop and is versatile.

Mets need a 5th starter and I hope we get one and let Harvey cook a little more in AAA. If not I hope he comes up and Warthan doesn’t screw him up like he did Pelfrey, Ollie Perez, John Maine, etc.

Look for Captain Kirk to figure it out by August, including hitting lefties better. Gut feeling is telling me Duda is going to put on a power display in August. Wright will remain solid in the field, and August will slow him up a bit but come september he is going to light it up for the final stretch run. Johan, is my biggest concern, he is erratic, and he is going to tire, lets hope he makes the adjustments. I am hoping Jon Niese gets hot and starts a streak of 10 great starts. He has the stuff, now its all about putting it together and being consistent.

Chris Young, bothers me, scares me even. His stuff is so pedestrian, I think I saw a grandfather tossing the ball with his grand son that threw harder and had more stamina. I predict Young gets bang around hard and the Mets have to call up another starter as Young fizzles out completely. My hope is the Mets cut the Meja relief experiment (Hey fellas it’s not working and hasn’t worked since the last regime) Jenry is a starter, his stats prove he does best under those conditions and if you are not going to give him the opportunity to do what he does best, then trade him for what you need and let him finish developing elsewhere. Though it will come back to bite you on the ass.
