Lets hear it for the boys. After all the angst I’ve read about them in the first two games lets give them their accolades for yesterday’s big win. A fine job by Jon Niese who has been impressive at times this season and is starting to look like a solid number three. The Ike davis three hits were significant and hopefully he continues to drive the ball like this for the rest of the season. In that second game he narrowly missed a home run by less than foot. A solid job all around yesterday and a nice way to roll into a tough Dodgers series.

Andres Torres is hitting 212 1 19 with OBP 333 and 301 SLug % (Castillo lite, if even possible)
Kirk even with struggles 277 7 25 and plays bettr defense imo… Why on earth are we giving that bum more playing time? Because he’s got 7 SB ALL YEAR???? SMH….

Quite frankly i don’t give a f*** about his OBP, 11 HR’s and 42 RbI is what i am interesting in..
Btw, Quietly, without being sent down to triple A as some idiot suggested, IKE DAVIS has 10 HR and 41 RBI .. Hmmmmm

Man what a game! 12 runs in two innings, crazy! Happy to see Murphy get 2 big shots. Loved the prank the team pulled on him, simply awesome. This team sure does have fun and gels together. Wright with 5 RBIs is great.

The best thing about today’s game is now the Mets ExWL is almost the same as their actual WL record. Now we don’t have to hear how the Mets are playing over their head…oh course, losing 4 of the last 5 helps that too…

Wow can u believe this , and you why can’t they be like this every game, i mean at least put together a 10 to 12 game win streak. We were playing good until they play like dogs who are lost and can’t get a bone. common mets really. sandy and the wilpons like can u now get us some help. Remember mets players u are not in camp playing like 10 year old little boys, man up now and start playing like u should play the game. To me it’s either your here to win as a team or just go back to the minors and cry cause u lost your chance at being in the big game. So finally can u understand now.

I’ll take victories like this from the Mets any day. Wish they could do it regularly. This was the emphatic win they needed going to LA. Finally, the bats woke up against the shitty Cubs. Like Gary mentioned, the Dodgers haven’t been the same since losing Kemp and they may lose Ethier too. They have to take advantage by winning at least 3 out of 4.

Niese struggled early having 2 runners reach in each of his 1st 3 innings allowing 1 run to score and with the Mets once again looking like the 1 thru 5 hitters were going to repeat their lack of offense it was hard to feel comfortable that they would pull this out. Then in the 4th the Mets put 3 runs on the board 2 coming off Murphy’s1st HR of the year and there was no looking back as Niese went on to pitch 7 innings and only giving up that 1 run while the offense just as the title of this post suggests exploded to score 17 runs.

After watching that ugly loss last night with the whole Duda fiasco (which by the way not even 24 hrs later Duda once again didn’t pick up his 3rd base coach as he was looking back at 2nd for the ball) and seeing the anemic offense against a Cubs pen who going into last night was 12th in the NL in ERA. The Mets came out today and tried to make amends for their poor showing the last 2 days.

Props to Murphy on his 2 HR’s and Davis who had cooled down the last 6 games but went 3 for 5 with 4 rbi’s and finally is off the interstate hitting .201/BA & Wright with a 5 rbi game. Really the whole lineup contributed so props to all.

Now on to L.A. and see if they can build on this.

I knew he would hit again. Good Start 2 HRs,Double and 4 RBIs. Hes on his way again. Maybe to .312 or better.
