Seems like yesterday we were pegged to be a 90 loss team and the Marlins were gonna be WS Champs. Now the Mets are on pace to win 86-88 games. With that said, I hope Baxter gets back soon. He was a big help off the bench and in the outfield.

And the best part is I dont see either the Phillies or Marlins moving up because they are playing some bad baseball and deserve to be at the bottom. Ryan Howard will be too late to help the Phillies.

First off to meet the Dodgers who were so hot for so long when they lost their two biggest bats is a gift

Now we are going to meet the phillies just before they get back to full strength.

Utley is just back and Howard is just starting rehab and probably won’t be back until after the ASG.

Thats when the Phillies are likely to start moving up from their surprising cellear dwelling but we won’t see them again until Late August where by then we should have solved our Bullpen issues and maybe have added a big bat to the lineup at the deadline.

By the time we will see them again we will have had three series’ vs the Nats so our fate will pretty much be decided before the Phillies see us to try and exact some revenge for our early beatings of them.

This is a relatively short West Coast trip, the next one will be a doozy where we play Arizona (4 games), San Fran (4 Games) and then SD (3 Games). That will be the trip that can kill or make our season if Washington has not already killed us in the two sereies we meet before we go on that WCT.

If we can get to Labor day still in the hunt then we are playoff bound…
Our Sept Opponents are:
Atl Wash Mil, and Phillies.

But we end September vs
Miami, Pitt, Atl and Miami again….

Those are the games you really NEED to win and looking at the teams we will play look quite winnable at this point in time!

And we will have the benefit of the full 40 man Roster to work with.

Kind of encouraging no?
