Although Ike didn’t have many hits, all two of his hits were big ones. This week he brought a lot of run production with his 2 home runs and 8 runs batted in. This includes his grand slam Monday against the Orioles and his three-run home run against Andy Pettitte on Friday. This week’s games include the three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles and the three-game series against the New York Yankees for a total of six games.

  • I’m having a hard time buying this one. 2/15, even if they were both HRs should not qualify as PotW status. I agree he is showing signs of life, but still has a long way to go.

  • I honestly thought Ike got all of that in the 9th last night. Looked good off the bat.

    • I thought the same thing Fonz, when that ball left the bat I screamed. I thought he got it and we had a game winning ph 2-run HR. It reminds me of the time Piazza hit that ball for the last out of the 2000 World Series i thought he got all of that too.

      • Yep, my oldest boy and I thought the same thing. Crushing, er, just not the batted ball.

  • Totally disagree with you on this. Wright should have won this hands down! He batted .400 and Ike batted .133. Ike Davis had twice as many strikeouts as he did hits!

    • Yep, totally agree. Wright had the best performance as far as production goes for the Mets this week. Of course a couple of clutch hits this weekend would have sealed the deal, but…

    • well, to be fair, Wright hit for higher BA, he had only 4 RBI and no HR, 2 mere doubles, that’s it… i think the guy should’ve been Valdespin who had a good week, hit for higher BA, Scored more runs and even had a higher slug % than david wright…. so.. There..

  • Good job on the choice this week Tyler. Ike only had 2 hits but what those 2 hits represented and did was big this week.

  • Love that Ike might be turning corner, we need everyone to keep this thing rolling.
