Vaughn needs to show he’s solved Advanced A pitchers consistently. He has some of the same issues he had in 2011. But he’s got 14 homers so far in 2012, so his power is up.

Both of them suck and lagares is coming off a impressive season Vaughn struggled last yeah and plus the only thing wrong wi Vaughn is his batting average his power and production is ok.

Cory has so much physical promise but is an underperformer. Vaughn might be struggling to overcome his Type and monitors with an insulin pump while he plays. He carries it in his back pocket and has to check his blood sugar levels during games. He is a Type 1 diabetic

Pete — I’ve been following Reese Havens closely ever since he was signed by us. He’s had his string of bad luck to be sure. I think he’ll be all the way back one day, but talent has a time value on it. It doesn’t last forever so its present day value is reduced. The longer it takes him, the less total value he has to the Mets system. If and when he comes back, he’ll likely be terrific. If he can get through the next month or so and doesn’t have any recurring physical issues, his stock will go up. Right now though he’s very rusty, even allowing for his notable recent improvement.

How in the world is Cory Vaughn not mentioned as one of the big disappointments? The man is hitting only .223. THAT is far more disappointing than Lagares.

You do understand I hope that if the Mets do give up on Havens and send him somewhere else, he will immediately blossom into the next Chase Utley?

If I’m Sandy Alderson, Reese Havens is the first guy I bring up when talking to other teams about bullpen help. He’s been hitting better lately, so hopefully that’ll bring his trade value back up a bit. But I’ve given up on him completely. Get rid of him and move Flores to second base full time. Or they can move him to right field if they think he’s better off there, and then move Duda to left where he belongs when Flores is ready.
