The more this kid Wheeler pitches, the more he dazzles us with his performance. What a tremendous acquisition and a big had for Beltran who made this all possible. So now when I think of the $119 million we gave Beltran, it was not only for 5 all star seasons, but about a decades worth of Zack Wheeler as well. Now that’s my kind of bang for the buck.

On the other hand, Fulmer hasn’t been nearly as impressive and Nimmo is still taking batting practice in Florida. I have some concerns there as I cant seem to get Brad Holt and Reese Havens out of my head. You know, those other supposed high ceiling picks that are still down in the basement.

The way Edgin is playing, consider Francisco’s days as a Met numbered. Wheeler? You must be a complete idiot not to be amazed at the way he’s been pitching. He’s going deep into games and teams can barely touch him (4.9 H/9!). He’s Buffalo bound before this month’s over. Even if him & McHugh are gone (Rosario to join them?), Cuan and whether Mazz or Almonte will be enough to fill that void in the rotation. On a side note, I don’t know what’s going on with Gorski, but he needs to his ass back in gear.
