The same thing happened to Beltran when he missed a year!
Took him two months plus to get used to the speed and get his timing back.
Took Ike two weeks longer but then again Beltran is a well established, accomplished and experienced batter, and Ike Davis for all intents and purposes is still a rookie with only a year of MLB service under his belt.

He does appear to be back and this month more than half his hits are EBHs.
Thats what you expect to see from an Ike Davis when he is being himself!

He also toned down his leg kick and fixed his hand positioning.

Well, I thought Ike’s troubles might have been due to the after affects of Valley Fever. But I’m so happy that his teammates came to his side pleading with Terry and others not to send him down.

Just glad there was no suspension for touching the umpire.

Like I’ve been saying all along, his struggles this year was because of all the time he missed last year, and this year in ST. I think missing all that time really messed up his timing. You could tell as the more games he played, the better he looked at the plate, and now we are starting to see some results.

It’s also amazing despite all his struggles this year that he’s still on a pace to hit over 20HR and drive in almost 100 runs.
