Thats the type of things a franchise player does. This kid looks like he has great upside and seems like the type of kid who can be a leader and just flat out loves the game. These are the type of developmental players the Mets need. The Mets could have had more power with Hawkins but the Mets are building this team off of quality guys with high baseball IQ and guys who can work counts and get on base. Attributes like love for the game and leadership are not things that can be taught to a kid so I love this pick.

A solid contact hitter with plus defense and great instincts. The farm system is full of corner players lacking defensively. Cecchini would make a real nice 2B with Tejada. You figure Nimmo will make it a bit before Cecchini and between he and Kirk and Ike, this team has a future of kids that can catch the ball. It’s an exciting thought.
