Brandon Nimmo Meets The Press At Brooklyn
In this video from Media Day at MCU Park, Brandon Nimmo talks about his transition to pro baseball, expectations, and of course his excitement about playing with the Brooklyn Cyclones.
He had some nice things to say about 2012 draft pick Kevin Plawecki, is hoping to win a championship with Brooklyn and one day playing center field at Citi Field.
We will be at MCU Park all day as Sean Kenny will be covering all the Brooklyn Cyclones Opening Day festivities, and he will be posting pictures, comments and live blogging throughout the day.

First extended interview with Nimmo I’ve heard since the day he was signed. I’m sue there were others I’ve missed along the way but some good stuff here.
Overall, sounds like he’s got a good head on his shoulders for a young man. He realizes the challenges in front of him, he knows it’s a long road and sounds realistic about his expectations and what he has to do to improve at each level. Comfortable in front of the media and I couldn’t help but notice the smile never disappeared. To say he’s excited to be in Brooklyn would probably be an understatement.
Here’s hoping he puts up a good showing this summer with the Cyclones. I heard him say his goal was to play CF one day for the Mets. He looks like a big strong kid. Does he have the speed to stick in CF? It will be interesting to see how that develops.
never know what happens to a guy when he matures from a relative kid at 17 to a man at 23, but one of his big attributes was supposed to be his speed, so hopefully he can stcik at a CF. though if he also develops the bat/power to anchor a corner OF spot, even better!
Brandon Nimmo has a large measure composure and optimism. He is a young man who seems to be able to connect with the challenges of the game and with the value of his teammates.
Good luck, Brandon.
Let’s go NIMMO!!! woohoooooooo
