Thanks very much. I actually was covering the game for another outlet, but since I found out that Sean Kenny was not able to make the game due to the passing of his mother, I figured I throw a few pictures on the site for the fans who were interested. Didn’t expect this comments section to turn into a debate about Nimmo. But I’m glad we have a passionate fanbase here at MMO.

Hasn’t the Bullpen K-Mart shopping spree taught you anything about how bad it is to go after guys who failed elsewhere just to save a penny or two for the Wilpons?

You kind of have a point but I don’t know that Jim is shilling here….Just reporting on what many here want to hear about because they have so much riding on how well Nimmo does here….If he busts a lot of them will be picking egg off thier face for years!

Truth is I can’t remember any other picks getting a full write up based on thier first game and going 0-3. Not even any of our top 10 picks we have taken over the years…

That said Jim wrote for the audience that comes here.
I won’t fault him for writing about what the people want to read here.
Better to ask why is Nimmo more interesting to follow to some (even when he goes 0-3) than a 1 Hitter being thrown just yesterday.

I don’t read about it and if I do, I don’t shun the person who wrote the piece simply because I don’t care about Short-A baseball.

Actually you know what I would like to read about? What VETERANS are available in the market that can help the big club now. Nimmo is not going to help the big club now or in the near future so i have no interest – yet.

There seems to be more and more coverage of kids we don’t know where the hell they will be in 2 years time and less coverage about what players are available in the majors that can help the big club in their quest for the (for those that want to believe) playoffs – now.

And that’s all that matters to me – not some kids in A ball or who have yet to play A ball
