What I liked most about the last 2 wins was seeing TC stretch out his starters a little longer and taking away the bullpens responsibility of getting more outs than they need to. Pleasantly surprised he let Dickey start the 9th and then went and got him when he got into trouble as opposed to just lifting him after 7 innings becuase the so called book says you go to the bullpen there. Well managed series by TC. Don’t get to say that too often.

I thought if they took 2/3 that it’d be a battle of bullpens. I wasn’t too far off. I don’t think we’ll really ever say the bullpen was the player of the series… normally it will be a hitter due to opportunity.

Maybe I should re-name that section.. or just stop including the bullpen!

I agree srt, I found that quite interesting. Dickey had a 2.61 ERA going into Philly a few weeks ago prior to his win. He pitches very well against them but hasn’t got the Wins to show for it.

Yea I bet they see Niese, Batista and Gee and like their chances. Hopefully the Mets can do something about that. Looking ahead to Miami though we have Santana, Dickey and Niese.

Interesting that The Good Phight is thankful they’re missing RA Dickey on this homestand.
Dickey getting a reputation now that teams would just assume not face that knuckle ball.

Well I don’t know if I would say the Mets taking 2 out of 3 from the Dbacks in the last series was them coming up huge as you said in your last Mets Pots. I’d say Santana and Dickey played a major part but the pen did play a part in holding the leads so let’s see what if anything Wright brings to the table in this series. I am just really hoping that Duda & Davis can have a big series.
