Am I wrong but does it seem that umpires are getting the calls mostly right on those close bang-bang plays where we need the slow motion, multi-angled and zoom replays to confirm their decisions and instead getting it wrong on plays that appear to be easy to call?

The missed tag on Baxter wasn’t even close.

I’d say it feels more like the last few years. When I think I’ve seen about as a bad a call as you can see another one pops up to trump the last. Not that that had anything to do with this game.

It was nice to see Hefner hold his own out there on the mound. I was very impressed with his control of his breaking balls.

Try to avoid the sweep vs the Jays. Get out of Canada and hope to get fat vs the Pirates.

We’re three and six since that five game winning streak but could have been as high as six and three had it not been for our bullpen. Imagine, that could have meant an 11-3 run and first place.

Of course those are the breaks and all teams have them.
