That has nothing to do with the subject and just a cheap shot totally unrelated to anything discussed here. Then u open up a can of worms and then the Piazza debate begins, etc.

But then again you’re russell zanca so i should not be surprised.

No asterisk – those were all good catchers for the Mets that helped them win. That’s all.

The Mets not having developed their own all star catcher in the last 20/20+ years means nothing. The Mets have had a history of having good catchers and have always had good catchers whenever they had a pennant run (Grote, Carter, Piazza, Loduca and even add Barajas & Blanco and Pratt regardless that they were part timers).

You can even make the argument that if the Mets did develop their own catcher in the last 20 or even 25 years they may never have acquired Carter or Piazza..or even LoDuca and possibly could have resulted in less playoff appearances because they would’ve went in another direction. So it’s nice to develop your own catcher and hopefully the Mets do but the fact they haven’t developed their own in the last 20 years would not have mattered.

And if the Mets take 2 out of 3 it will most likely be due to the bullpen? I wonder why the author said that? Because Alderson made those moves? Maybe the offense bails the bullpen out instead.

I agree Jessep, I think our boys were looking past the Astros series, and a got kicked in the butt for it. I heard Josh Lewin during yesterday’s game mention that although Duda & Nickaeus were the ones mentioned, the entire team “wasn’t feeling well.” I don’t know. I just hope they come out well rested and ready to go. Now I got to go find the “naughty nurse” you mentioned.
