they do have plenty of depth though at SS (for all those that like to complain about no depth). No, not Tulo level, but most teams don’t have studs on the roster as a bench guy or AAA back-up plan. Unless they happen to have a hot shot prospect at that position banging on the door, you are going to end up with someone like Qunitella if your starter goes down. So no need to go trade for another guy of the same ilk.

First pitch Fouls: 4

First pitch outs: 5.

19 first pitch fastballs, so around 50%. 7 BB, 5 CS, 4 SS, 2 outs, 1 hit.
8 first pitch curve/slider around 22%, 2BB, 3 CS, 1 SS, 2 outs, 0 hits.
6 change ups, around 17 % 3BB, 0 CS, 2 SS, 1 out, 0 hits.

You didn’t address my point. Is he taking a lot of pitches for strikes early in the AB, or not? Because if he is taking strikes early, he’s going to be in a lot of pitchers counts, and that might be the reason why he has those numbers

You can speculate that it affected team chemistry but that would be the same as someone else saying the chemistry was affected due to sending Lutz down. It can’t ever be proven but that doesn’t make it any more likely to be the case.

As far as SS goes Cedeno is that veteran SS and another choice would be Quintanilla. The point is depending on the seriousness of Tejada’s injury I don’t think they need to go outside the organization at this time.

Well of course his swing rate being up overall, his swing rate at balls outside the zone and his contact rate on pitches outside the zone no matter what, regardless of first pitch show he is not following anything close to what Hudgens is suggesting.
